Product Overview
A SATA optical disk drive uses a function that has a laser light for reading or writing the data. The drive is connected to a workstation or a computer using SATA (Serial Advanced Technology Attachment) as an interface. It includes the optical path, laser and lens. A SATA optical disk drive is used in the GDXR console workstation. It stores data on disk formats such as CDs, DVDs and Blu Ray disks. Different types of discs require different wavelengths to read. The component has a 5.25” half height form factor. A SATA interface has up to a 1.5 Gigabits/second speed. SATA-2 interfaces have up to 3 Gigabits/second. It is read compatible with DVD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, CD-ROM, CD-R and CD-RW. It has a minimum of 2 megabytes of internal drive data buffer or cache.
